Subject: Scotching the Rumours about Perception: I am writing in response
to the rumours currently circulating regarding the future of Perception in white
water kayaking.
It appears that there is a large amount of misguided, and in some cases maliciously
inaccurate, information being circulated. Obviously I am keen to clarify the
situation.
First and foremost, Perception is NOT pulling out of white water kayak design
and production. Perception grew up on white water and has a long and illustrious
history in white water kayaking. With designs such as the Dancer, Perception
was responsible for modernising and expanding the appeal of this branch of our
sport. We are not about to turn our backs on our roots and will continue to
develop white water kayaks into the future.
The only change will be that Perception will not be designing competition freestyle
kayaks to follow the Full Tilt, Spin and Lucid. These kayaks are continuing
to turn heads in competition with wins at many of the recent major European
events and will continue to be part of our range into 2003.
The focus for new model design in 2003 will be areas of white water kayaking
that we are not currently covering. This includes a number of new and exciting
kayaks for river running freestyle (free-ride). There will, of course, be other
changes to the Perception white water range for 2003 which will serve to strengthen,
rather than weaken, Perception's place in the white water market.
Full details of the complete Perception range, including price structures, for
2003 will be released in the coming months.
I hope that this information helps clarify the situation. Regards Andre (Perception
UK)
Danke an Eric Thomson für diese Info.
